For our first full month of school we have been incredibly busy! We had many chances to connect with our parents this month. We had a great turn out when it came to Open House and conferences. We were able to talk about reading for 30 minutes at home and promoting the importance of making sure your scholar is at school. PTO was able to do their first fundraiser with Krispy Kreme and help support not only our school but community as well. We also had our first family event with Camp Read A Lot. It was a great chance to get our families involved with reading and sharing their love of reading with their child. Scholars got free books, had fun activities to do and were able to read with their parent. Thank you to all who joined.
As we swing into the school year the students got to have chances to celebrate being Riley Raptors and have fun at school. We had prize drops which included dance parties and extra recess time. We had our mid trimester celebration where students got to use their RAWR tickets at our first RAWR mart. We are making sure our scholars promote and demonstrate our core values at Riley and setting a good example.
October is another busy month. We will have Red Ribbon spirit week, clubs are starting next week, and scholars are starting to get into our Unit 2 research projects. We look forward to another fun filled month with lots of learning and laughter.
