It’s a joyful January recap. In January we had a very busy month. Scholars took the MAP test and demonstrated how much they have grown in reading and in math. We had a lot to celebrate this month as well as student growth. We had two publication parties as the scholars finished their books. For the student publication party they got to play a game of “Guess the Mystery Reader” while eating a snack. They then got to exchange their book with another grade level and share their impressive writing skills. It was amazing to see the great turn out we had for the parent publishing party. We loved seeing scholars share their hard work with their families while they ate a light breakfast. We then had free books scholars could take home as well to help enhance their reading. Another huge celebration was our ACCESS pump up. February is the month of ACCESS where half of our scholars show how well they are progressing in their English. For this celebration the scholars walked around the school while their classmates clapped and cheered for them. They then went to the cafeteria where they had a hot cocoa treat with a reminder of the importance of doing their best and beating the test. We know all our scholars will do amazing! Finally the second session of clubs has officially started. Scholars are cooking, playing games, learning how to play volleyball, and learning dances in our after school clubs. We are so excited to see what they are able to produce and accomplish by the end clubs.
